After returning back home, hereafter the attempt of a short (although definitely incomplete) résumé of my experiences during 100ish days of travelling through Europe.
People
The vast amount of impressions from all the landscape, the cities and the nature i received are for sure a big thing. Some of them you can also get through browsing through the photos in the blog. The memories truly deeply engraved in my head on the other hand come from the people i've met on my trip. From (seemingly) unimpressive things as a Polish lorry driver smiling and waving at me from his cabin over a Czech host (with whom i couldn't exchange a word due to a lack of common languages) offering me coffee and cake for breakfast to all the people who willingly provided me food and shelter.
To name all these encounters i'd be damned to fail for there were way too many. But i try to remember them as long as my memory allows me to and hope to be able to pay the favours back somewhere, somehow.
Thanks to everyone who took part (in whatever way) of my journey.
You gave me memories beyond comparison!
Equipment
The core of my travel was obviously the bicycle. During these 100ish days i was on it for 43 days covering about 4500km.Conclusion: 1 lost screw, 1 lost nut and once a blocked chain (because of a stupid maintenance mistake of myself).
Nothing snapped or broken, no flat tire, gears working properly to the end. Perfect!
My choice of using a mobile as only navigation system turned out pretty well.
The maps provided by OSM and OpenCycleMap (used OSMAnd application) were accurate, the GPSLogger recorded properly (if i didn't forget to turn it on) and the charging mechanism with dynamo and cycle2charge-plug (slightly tuned) worked flawless even in the rain.
